Xi Jinping Sends Congratulatory Message to Vietnam's New President Vu Van Thang

On March 2, 2023, President Xi Jinping sent a telegram to Vu Van Thang to congratulate him on his inauguration as President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Xi Jinping pointed out that China and Vietnam are friendly socialist neighbors linked by mountains and rivers. Since last year, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and I have reached important consensus on consolidating traditional friendship, strengthening strategic communication, and deepening mutually beneficial cooperation, and jointly drew a grand blueprint for the development of China-Vietnam comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership in the new era. I attach great importance to China-Vietnam relations, and I am willing to work together with Chairman Vu Van Thang to promote the sustained, healthy and stable development of bilateral relations, and continue to move forward to jointly build a community of shared future with strategic significance between China and Vietnam.
